  1. Aguada Fort Aguada Fort is one of the most famous and well-preserved forts in Goa. Built by the Portuguese in 1612 to defend against the Dutch and Marathas, the fort is situated on the Mandovi River's mouth. It has a lighthouse that was operational until 1976.
